NOOK Color

The Reader Tablet offers both benefits and disadvantages. Just a reminder, these are my personal view of the NOOK. I've found the NOOK does some things very well, and in other areas, I would like to see some improvements.

Nook Color Benefits

You can conveniently download books straight from the Nook Color or from Barnes and Noble website.
Quick transfer times on the Nook
With 8GB the Nook Color can hold thousands of books.
If you need more, that's not a problem, there is a compartment to hold memory chips, which gives your Nook more data space.
The Nook is not just for reading you can also surf the web in any area with wi-fi. Thus, you can check your email, watch videos, connect with friends on Google+ or Facebook.
The 7 inch screen is big enough for reading or streaming
You can transfer music, games, apps and more to your Nook. In addition it comes preloaded with games like sudoku, chess and crossword.
Free apps and popular apps are available. Netflix is now available on Nook Color.
Nook Color has hundreds of interactive books for children. They can read the books themselves or have the audio read them aloud.

Okay, you have to admit no product is perfect, thus, let's cover some of the drawbacks of the Nook.

Nook Color Disadvantages

As I simply stated above, no product is perfect. Everyone is looking for something more than the product can deliver. Thus, here are some of the disadvantages that I currently see with the NOOK Color.

Wi-Fi only. Though I know the purpose of the Nook is portability, I would like to be able to get online at any time. If you don't have wi-fi at home, you're left searching for wi-fi hotspots. And, if you're in a rural area, wi-fi is rarely available.
Barnes and Noble NOOK books are not as large as the Kindle yet.
It takes about three hours to charge
Just a personal opinion, however, the Nook Color need more apps. Since the Nook is so new, this may be just a matter of time that they beef up the apps availability.
