There are different ways in which you can submit your articles to the article directories:

• Manually
• Through online services
• Through stand-alone submission software tools

Magic Article Submitter/Magic Article Rewriter

Pro
The Magic Article Submitter has over 700 directories which you can distribute your articles too. But it also has one additional feature, it allows you to add to your list.

The "drip feed" submission feature allows you to submit your article over a period of time, instead of dumping your articles into the directories at once.


Cons
1. I noticed that not all the directories accepted my application for membership. But, then again, getting close to 600 into the directories was still good. I have to assume that my article did not meet their categories. Anyway, this took about 5 minutes to complete.
2. The submitter does not submit your articles to high PR article directories. Most of the directories are "Article Dashboard" style directories only.
3. Need to be careful where you are sending your article. Niche specific.


Magic Rewriter

Okay, I've been trying to find an article rewriter that had certain criteria that I wanted met. There were: 1) Produce readable articles; 2) Easy to use; 3) Control over the word and phrases used in the rewrite; 4) Didn't cost me an arm and a leg.

With those four elements to consider, I found that Magic Rewriter came the closest to my needs. Here is what it does.

How It Works
You are able to draw upon a synonym database of over 30,000 words to help speed your rewrite. (You don't have to only rely on your own vocabulary base. If you're planning on putting your articles in a lot of directories, this can be tedious and impossible, if you want unique articles).

Yes, you have to manually choose the words. This is how it works. The software will highlight a word or group of words and on each selection you will see the software has inserted the spin tags [spin]/[spin]" for you. It is your choice as to which tag to use.

Once you have completed going through each word, you either spin the article once to have your new article fully re-written or you can spin the article, selecting how many times you want this spun.

If you spin one article many times, the program saves the spun, unique, non-duplicate content article to a folder you created.

Bottom line, the program offers you a unique way to have 100% unique articles that you can submit to article directories, post to your blog, etc.

Pros:

The software will let you:

2. Have control over your words, sentences, and structure of your words
3. Spin anchor text in your articles
4. Spin urls to your home page or any other web page on your site
5. Spin whole sentences
6. Allow you to add your own words and synonyms to your database
7. Works directly from your laptop or desktop
8. Full copy and paste function
9. Cost is reasonable. 


Cons

1. The user guide tell you more with what the Magic Article Rewriter can do, but didn't  do a good job at how it was done.
2. As with any rewriter, you need to make sure sentences, titles, etc are unique. The one positive I can give to a rewriter is that is expands your vocabulary - but you still need to do the work if you want the content to be readable.

Some like the article submitter, others do not. There are more positive comments about the article rewriter than the submitter.

Content Crooner 

Content Crooner is a simple web application that will distribute your content to
thousands of publishers, bloggers and site owners in minutes. You just enter your content
into the article submission form and they will distribute it.

Your account page allows you to:
1. Create pen name besides just your regular name
2. View full list of articles you previously submitted
3. View distribution and exposure reports to see exactly where your articles have been used.
4. View or change dates when your article are to be distributed
5. Ability to tweet your articles

ISnare distribution credits is a good alternative if you don't write many articles during the month, but still want a method of getting your articles out to the masses without killing your budget.

ISnare has been in operation since late 2004. 


Pro
1. Free to submit your articles (only 5 a day)
2. Free way to distribute your own articles (Through their referral program)
3. Wide variety of categories.

Cons
1. Free level article submission takes up to a week to approve an article for submission to their directory.

2. Platinum membership for distribution costs $59.95 per month. Ouch!



SubmitYourArticle.com 

SubmitYourArticle.com is an article submission service that distributes 8 articles per month to thousands of publishers and article directories. 

Article leverage is also offered, this service lets you re-write parts of your article, so that every directory gets a unique version of your article.

Here's how article leverage works.

You login to your account, you complete the article submission form. This is where you enter your title, the article, your keywords, and your resource box.

Once you've completed this section, you just click okay to save it. You'll see (just like the free directories) that you can edit, publish or delete your article. If you select publish, you have two options to choose from: 1) normal article submission; or 2) article leverage option.

If you choose article leverage you will have the opportunity to edit some selected sentences in your article, add a new headline and/or resource boxes. Once you have finished these steps, you are ready to submit your article.

The articles are submitted to:

1. Double-opt-in email publisher list
2. Article directories
3. Niche blogs
4. Article announcement lists


Pro
1. Saves time
2. Reaches a huge audience

Con
1. Offer article leverage, but in my opinion, one sentence or a new title is not going to fool the search engines in assuming that it is not duplicate content.
2. Have to be an active member to maintain $47 monthly charge for the services rendered


As you can see, there are different methods in which you can submit your articles to the article directories. It's all dependent upon what your "need" or "want" is in getting the job done quickly and efficiently.
