To begin – just slapping links into web pages is not going to impress the Search Engines – or your visitors for that manner. The links you select must be specific to the theme of your site – or show some relevancy for being there, besides the “I thought it was neat, so I put it in there” mentality. With that being said, let us begin.
One-Way Inbound Linking -- Defined
One-Way Inbound Linking in it’s simplest terms is defined as links pointing to your website. Is this a good thing? Yes. Inbound linking is very important – and it helps your search engine rankings, as well as, allows visitors to find you on the Internet.
How To Get Inbound Links
But how do you get One-Way Inbound Links? Here are some ways that will give you quality exposure.
1) Content – Content is important to you, to other webmasters, and to visitors. And, if the content is of quality, the Search Engines will definitely find your website and reward you with a strong ranking. Now, this is the hard part – getting content.
And if the content is of quality on your website, you may find
people linking to your content to share with others.
a. Writing Articles -- Writing articles based on the theme of your website, is the best way to getting your website out to the masses. Granted, writing articles is time consuming. But once you send your article off to the article directories you will see a spike in your stats within a month’s time.
However, that is just the tip of the iceberg. You will continue to see results from that one article, for months, or even years down the road. Why? Writing your own articles is a lasting advertisement.
For example: I have seen people pick up articles from one or two years ago and use them on their sites. Why? They are looking for quality information that they can learn from, as well as, to share with there visitors.
When you are first starting out, writing articles is the best way to get one-way links, and to get your website noticed.

However, be aware, you cannot blatantly advertise your site within
the body of your copy. The directories, in most cases, will reject
your article. Your advertising will be reserved to your resource box
at the end of the article. Within the resource box, you will be able
to offer several links to your site. Make sure your link goes to the
web page that is relevant to your article.
