Do You Want To Work At Home
By Vickie J. Scanlon
With the downturn in the economy, people are
looking to make a little extra money online.
Which by the way, is okay. However, if you
are new to the Internet, be cautious at the
work-at-home opportunities. Not all opportunities
will end up giving you a way to make money, but
to lose money. Below, I've listed methods that
people have tried to used to begin a home business.
As you will see, some should be avoided.
Typing Jobs
Typing jobs-I'm already cringing on this one. Most typing jobs are placing ads on other people sites. You usually earn very little or nothing at all. In addition, you usually have to pay to get into the site. I would suggest that you stay away from this venture. If it says you need no experience-click away, click away, click away.
However, if you decided to take the plunge and are wondering if you have been scammed -check some of the things that may be happening.
1. You are not being paid for what you have done. They keep telling you that you did something wrong. Or they decided to change when you will be paid.
2. You're being notified by sites, that you are spamming. Or, you have been denied access because of spamming.
(You're not following the rules of the site)
3. No contact information. Or, they give you an email
contact, but you never get a response. Warning. They
may also provide you with a phone number that gets
no response.
4. You have to pay to work for them. They claim that
this payment is for administrative cost they incur,
or the tools they provide you.
Note: A true typing job, requires you to take tests to measure your ability. The standards are high, and they do require you to have experience. And, you do not have to pay to get the job.
Last but not least, investigate the company you are wanting to work for, or from which an offer has been extended to you.
Never, never blindly commit to anything on the Internet. Remember, when you enter the realm of the Internet-you're on a world stage, not just a corner office in your town or city.
Surveys
People new to the internet believe this is a way to make money. One, if you want to try surveys fine, but you should not have to pay a company to get a list of survey companies. Instead, do a Google search to find survey companies.
Two, it offers great busy work with little profit.
Franchises
Franchises require you to pay to play, so to speak. You are an independent operator who markets the product or service of a company. The independent operator pays a fee and royalities to the owner of the franchise.
There are some things you need to ask yourself when it comes to a franchise.
1. Can you handle giving part of your paycheck to the franchise. Usually the franchise owner will receive a continuing royalty between 8% and 10% of the gross income of the independent operator.
2. If you are sued due to injuries to personnel or customers-how is this handled by the
franchiser (The company offering the franchise).
MLM
MLM is the method by which a company sells its products by using independent distributors. The distributors, in turn, try to recruit others on their downline. (downline defined: people that are below you). There are legitimate MLM offers and also illegitimate MLM opportunties that are in fact, only a pyramid scheme. Affiliate Business
Affiliate Marketing is a viable way to making a living online, however,
you have to work at it. Success comes through hard work. You need to learn
the affiliate marketing business and grow your business at the same time.
To conclude, before putting out big chunks of change into anything,
make sure you do your research. The research will keep you save,
and will determine whether you want to pursue an online business.
