Does Your Video Have Value

Value is a simple word. But if you are applying the word "value" to a video, then there is a lot riding on it. Value is important to a video because, with it, comes creditability, traffic and sales. So what constitutes value?


Video and Value

So what constitutes video value. It starts when you begin creating your script-and applying your imagination.

Here are some things to consider:

  1. Your video should offer unique content that cannot be duplicated in text format.
    Why? Most people prefer getting their information by looking at text, because it is easier to consume and to search.
  2. Don't have a long video. Most people get easily distracted and will quickly click
    away.
  3. Effectively communicate the benefits of your product.
  4. Test your video. Testing the navigation, image and audio quality and buffering speed are important. You may have the latest equipment, but many do not.

Note: If you are not able to critique your video yourself, maybe you should enlist the aid of your family or friends, that's if, you know that they will give you an honest - up or down opinion of your creation. Why? Family and friends will usually give you a strong indication whether the video will fly well with others. 



Video Equipment-Bare Essentials

So you want to have a webcast, what equipment will you need? The basic equipment and software that you would have to have are as follows:

  1. camcorder, digital camera, or cell phone.
  2. A script - If you're selling a product you should hit the highlights of your product.
  3. Post your video to YouTube (Social Media) or embed on your site.
  4. Editing software 


How To Put Your Video On YouTube

How do you promote your video. If you are advertising a product you can post it on YouTube. 

How do you get your video on YouTube.

If you are using a digital camera or camcorder and you want to youse YouTube you need to know the following:

  1. Clip must be less t han 10 minutes
  2. smaller than 100MB
  3. Formated with the following extension: .AVI, .MOV, .WMV and .MPG file formats.

Now you're ready to load to YouTube.
  1. Go into YouTube, click "Upload Video"
  2. Enter video title, description, tags and category
  3. Set the video to Public. Click the "Upload a Video" button and select the file you want to upload by clicking the "browse" button.


If you can create an entertaining video, that informs at the same time, you will increase traffic and sales. But the key to your video, is value. When creating your video, always keep in mind one simple thought- "Does It create Value."
